Our family is going through so much right now. So Our family is going through so much right now.

So much unknown. 
So much anxiety. 
So much fear. 
So much worry. 
So much hurt. 
So much anger. 
So much sadness. 
So much angst. 
So much shaking. 
Just so much. 

It's important to remember that just because someone is a Christian does not mean they don't go through or feel these things. 

I've been praying through Psalms the last month or so and today I am going through Psalm 20. 

When we go through all these things I listed above and so much more we need to remember who our God is. 

Yes, Christians also go through all the same things as non- Christians do. However, as a Christian we have a hope. And that same hope is available to everyone. 

Psalm 20 is nursing my tender heart and giving me so much hope today and all I can do is cry in amazement that my God loves me this much. He is speaking this over me today as he wraps me in his arms. 

Psalms 20:
"May the Lord answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.  May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.  May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.  May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.  May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the Lord grant all your requests.  Now this I know: The Lord gives victory to his anointed. He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.  They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.  Lord , give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!"

We are living through this as we speak. So many We are living through this as we speak. 

So many things in this world are fighting for our minds. 

The most vulnerable are under constant attack from the enemy and their minds are the target. 

It's important for us to discuss our thoughts, fears, anxieties, etc. We have to normalize sharing! 

I'm not an expert but it does help when the listener has an open mind, open heart, no agenda, and a ton of love, compassion, and empathy. Judgment is NOT needed! 

And seeing a counselor isn't a bad thing... it's a brave and healthy thing!

Happy Friday friends! I set a goal a while back Happy Friday friends! 

I set a goal a while back to stick with yoga and nail crow, hurdler, and head stand poses. I'm excited to say that I have stuck with yoga for 2 months or so now and those poses are a ton easier than they were. 

Another challenge I set for myself is #75hardchallenge . One of the pieces of #75hard is that you do 2 workouts a day and one 45 minute workout must be outside. So, I took my yoga mat to the back porch. 

Guys, I never thought this would happen but yoga outside with my headphones in drowning out the noise from the street I live on, the wind blowing, the sun on my skin... life giving y'all! 

Moral of the story: 
👉Do things that challenge you. 
👉Get in nature. 
👉Stick to your commitment to get better. 
👉Set goals
✌Find joy in each moment.

Do you have that one thing that just makes you fee Do you have that one thing that just makes you feel calm? 

There are actually quite a few things that bring me a calm feeling in the chaos. 

The flicker of a candle, a good book, the sound of the waves crashing on the beach, touching my dogs ears, when I feel Gods spirit, and dirt roads. 

I don't even have to be standing on the dirt but just driving down it does the same thing for me. Feeling or hearing the gravel crunch just brings so much grounding for me. It brings me right to the present and calms the noise. 

It's good to know what brings you calm especially when our world is always crazy. Do some soul searching, friends. Really tune into your body and listen to what it needs. Then honor it.

Live a life that brings you joy. 

I haven't been on here in a while. Nor have I been working on blogging.  This really is a hard choice for me but lately I feel as though God is asking me to stop the distraction. He's slowly shifting my focus. And I really want to be ok with that but it's hard. 

A lot of work has gone into #thebrokenblessings and a lot of love. But he giveth and he taketh away. 

It's not my will but His be done. 

Maybe it's just gonna look different for me. Maybe less structured. Or maybe nothing at all. 

Who knows what He will do. But what I do know is that he wants me to focus on living a life of joy and being in the moment. 

So that's what I'm gonna do.

Right before this verse we see the Samaritan woman shift from the topic of her sin (deflection won't allow healing, y'all) to the topic of worship. She basically wants to know who's right: the Samaritans or the Jews. 

I love Jesus's answer here because this is truly a gift and freedom we have. 

We can worship anywhere! 

We don't have to be in a certain building or do it at a certain time. 

God  I am so thankful that not only can we come as we are thanks to the shed blood of Jesus but we can come whenever! 

I pray this gives you hope today.

We just love getting outdoors and enjoy the beautiful nature God has given us. 

One thing about camping though...my belly can't s'mores 😢

What is camping without s'mores? 

Good thing I came up with an alternative that, I must say, is quite the delicious and gooey treat! 

Here it is👇
👉Peel banana
👉Slice length wise
👉Spoon out center of each half
👉Insert mini dark chocolate chips and mini marshmallows along center of one half
👉Top with pb2
👉Put halves together and roll in tin foil
👉Heat over fire until all melty
👉Enjoy with a spoon

A few fun facts about Independence Day:

🦅It has been a federal holiday since 1870
🦅Congress actually voted in favor of independence on July 2nd but the document wasn't drafted nor signed until the 4th
🦅because of this- John Adams turned down invitations to events celebrating independence on the 4th as he believed it should be the 2nd on which we celebrate
🦅Festivities after the reading of the declaration usually included concerts, bonfires, parades, and firing of cannons and muskets
🦅Philadelphia was the first to hold an annual commemoration on July 4, 1777. This is when fireworks were first set off to celebrate this particular holiday. 
🦅Massachusetts became the first state to adopt Independence Day as a state holiday

How are you? No, really... How are YOU feeling ri How are you? 
No, really... How are YOU feeling right now? 
Deep breath... eyes closed... assess. 
How are you feeling? 
There's a ton going on in our world right now and almost all of us also have some personal things we are dealing with. 
With the chaos we deal with on the daily I want to give you a few #wellnesswednesday reminders:

1- Seek God first and foremost to develope all opinions. And PRAY. 
2- Get in nature. Nature is a natural stress reducer and mood booster. 
3- Exercise daily. Whether it's an organized routine or a more spontaneous form of movement (neighborhood walk, bike ride, hike, tennis, kayaking, etc). Just move. 
4- Stay hydrated and eat primarily whole foods! When we put good stuff into our bodies we feel better! 
5- sleep well! Stay in routine! 
6- Stay mindful. A few times throughout the day take a few minutes to just close your eyes, breath deep, and access how you're feeling. 
And remember to always ask yourself:  What can I do in this moment to feel as I'm living my best life?
