    It’s been a while…

Well…hello there. Long time it has been. There’s a perfectly good explanation, I promise. Want to delve deeper with me? Find out what has been going on and why I’ve been MIA? Of course you do…I mean…who wouldn’t! Disclaimer: This post will be full of ramblings and probably a hot mess. I’m OK with it.  First things first. Buying, selling, moving. (short version) We listed our home in hopes of it selling in the summer that way kids were out of school and schedules were less hectic. Have you ever heard that God’s timing is not our timing? He’s one funny guy because our house sold in two days! (insert panic…

    Victory in the valley.

You’ve been there. In the midst of a dark valley. The fog hangs over your head. Picture it. Look around. Can you see it? Rough walls on either side. The stillness. The quite. Left and right are not options. It’s either going back to where you just came from or trekking through to what lies ahead. Which direction will you choose? Or will you not move at all? Do you become paralyzed? Are you exhausted? Overwhelmed? Doubtful? We all go through these valley’s in life. We aren’t always on the highs of the mountain tops. I firmly believe that if it wasn’t for the valley’s in life we would never…

    Breaking free.

Prison. I’m sure you will agree with me when I say that is what religion feels like. Do this, say that, don’t go that way. Shame. On. You. And that’s exactly what it feels like. I remember a time where I felt like I just couldn’t do enough of the right things for God. Almost like a diet gone bad. I’ll be really good for a span of five days then BOOM! Out of nowhere I fall “off-the-wagon” and all you know what breaks loose. Hey, your day is already shot…try again tomorrow. Then you are in a constant state of guilt and shame because you just can’t get it…

    Divorce.

It was something I never thought I would go through. I mean…why me? The person who is completely against this sort of thing. The person who firmly believes in the promise and vow made in the beginning. Why me and my kids? Why us? Divorce. It’s such an ugly word isn’t it? It’s an even uglier situation! I’m going to try to explain the emotion as best as possible but in reality no words can do justice to living the nightmare first hand. I knew we had huge amounts of issues. Issues I believed we could get past. But in 6 short years I was told that there is nothing…

Political Madness (someone’s gotta say it).

What is going on in this country? Anyone else here just grotesquely disgusted with the hate? Even the snide comments…goodness! You know the ones. Where someone posts or says something sarcastic portraying that they are not for the new president. I guess I would ask these people where their faith was. Seems to me they’ve lost it. I mean…who are you believing in? Who are you putting your faith in? The president or God? Did God not use unqualified individuals continuously throughout the bible to bring about his great plans? Love one another. I guess I don’t see what’s so complicated about that direction. Because that’s exactly what it is…a…

NEW YEAR, NEW YOU – A FAITHFUL CHANGE

I, for one, enjoy wiping the slate clean. I enjoy getting a new calendar and cleaning out old things to have room to start fresh. In fact I even created a list of planners perfect  for the busy woman! When we start a new year it’s like a whole word of possibilities is right in front of you and you get yet another chance to “get it right.” We get a chance to be the best version of ourselves we can possibly be with over hundreds of New Years resolution ideas to choose from! Who wouldn’t love that? Every new year people set “resolutions” or “goals” (which is what I…

    I feel like a fraud.

Or a failure, liar, hypocrite…insert whatever you’d like here. There was a post a little while back that I shared how I get into these deep dark pits (Read about it here). No matter what I do to try to get out it’s like all my hands are doing is leaving claw marks on the cold walls. This is where I found myself for a few days in a row. And I wasn’t going to post any of this. I mean, it’s not one’s first instinct to say “Hey! Look at me. I’m a Christian and I am acting like the devil himself!”  But really, if we think about it,…

INSECURITY IN RELATIONSHIPS – THE GIFT OF MY HUSBAND

This story started off very differently than you are reading now. See…just like with any “great miraculous Jesus came through like the white knight he is” story, there is always a back-story. And let me tell ya…the back-story for this little piece of gold is a DOOZY (and you don’t want to miss it!) This is not only a complete story of my insecurity in relationships but there is a remarkable revelation at the end. But after some thought I believe that my husband deserves a post only about him without mingling in the hot mess that brought me to him (or him to me…however you choose to look at it).…

    The Devil’s Got Me

And he’s got you too! Shocked? You shouldn’t be and I’ll share why. So, I just got off of a hiatus. No, I wasn’t on vacation though that would have been a nicer way to spend my time. To tell the truth I already had my next blog started. But when this latest adventure came my way I simply couldn’t resist sharing… What adventure you ask? SICKNESS! And not just any sickness. First I was off for a week with some sort of flu that made my neck and head feel like it would explode and I was super tired. Then I was fine for a week. Then the big guns…

    WHEN SCARS TELL A STORY

It was a typical day. Well, as typical a day can get in this life. There I was, innocently mowing the lawn when out of nowhere comes a weed eater and nearly takes off my ankle! Kidding…it didn’t come out of nowhere. My very helpful husband, knowing that it was about to rain, decided to get the weed eating done while I finished up mowing. We were both focused on what we were doing. I was being careful trying not to get too close to him and he was being careful looking behind himself to make sure he didn’t trip over the paving stones. Needless to say he jigged and…
