HOW TO PUT CHRIST BACK INTO CHRISTMAS

I absolutely love Christmas. The snow, the lights, the fireplaces roaring, the candles burning with a cinnamon scent, cookies everywhere…just the coziness of it all! But with all the hustle and bustle – Christmas parties, gift shopping, family outings, etc.,- we can get distracted by all the “flashy things” and forget what Christmas is all about. To celebrate Christmas the proper way – let’s put CHRIST back into Christmas! So, how do we keep our focus? How do we put Christ back into Christmas and keep Him there? There are ways to redirect our focus and do it often so we don’t fall trap to the commercialism of our Savior’s…

GRATITUDE – HOW TO LIVE A LIFE OF JOY

Tis’ the season sweet friend. The season where everyone does their best to shift their focus from what brings them misery to what brings them a grateful heart.  Why is it just this season? If gratitude is the key to happiness, why wouldn’t we KEEP our focused shifted? I have an idea as to why- I believe we don’t make showing gratitude a key foundation part of our everyday routine, therefore it’s easy to forget and let our minds run elsewhere. Let’s change that, shall we? Follow along as we dig into how we can bring more joy into our everyday life by keeping our focus on being grateful. This…

HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE IN 5 EASY STEPS

Unless our soul is well – we will always remain unwell. I firmly believe that we all need Jesus in our lives. He came into a broken world to save a broken people. Think of yourself as a vase. When we are born we are a vase with cracks and some missing pieces. When we accept Jesus he is the missing pieces and the glue that makes us whole. Now, as a complete vase we are able to hold the abundance of love, joy, and peace he pours into us. But more than that – he fills us so much that we end up pouring out onto all those around…

    Purposeful passion.

Do you feel as though you have been called to something….or not? Maybe you have questioned if it is – in fact – a calling. Did you hear Him right? Or have you thought “there are already so many people doing the same thing…why could He possibly need you to do it too?” Friend, I’ve been there. I have so many things I am passionate about. Different seasons however, bring different passions. I have felt discouraged, unmotivated, uninspired. There have been times when I too have wondered if what I have to say will make any difference at all. Can I encourage you (and myself) in this? I just love…

God is perfect…so we don’t have to be.

Yes, you heard that right! Did you know that you are made the way you are for a reason? God made you to bring Him glory. So, when he created you he gave you everything you needed to accomplish this work. You don’t have to strive. You just have to accept. Accept who He made you to be, where He has placed you, and how He has equipped you. This rabbit race we are in is not his intention or desire for us. We need to stop the cycle. We need to rest. Rest in HIS goodness. Eventually, because we are made new in Christ, we will make those decision…

    The memory that won’t fade.

*Beginning Note: This has been one of the toughest stories to share…EVER! But I knew that it needed to be shared in hopes of helping someone else who may be facing this same situation or one like it. Or for someone who may not know what to believe anymore. Thanks for reading. It’s not always on my mind but there are times when the images appear as if it all happened yesterday. Since it is a topic more discussed recently within politics it seems the images are with me daily. No matter what I do, I can’t run away from them. Not that I try – as it seems that…

    The path less traveled.

It seemed like a nice day for a walk to me…. My dog, Nina, thought it was. Although, she thinks every minute of every day is good for a walk. 22 degrees and snow blowing all around…what’s not to love, right?! Question: Who else here get’s frustrated when they have to share a trail with others? Be honest! I don’t like to share a trail. It’s not because I am that much of a hermit (or whatever word you would use) but I like to let Nina off her leash. And, if you know Nina, you know I have somehow turned her into an “introverted” dog. Either that or she…

    Uprising.

Funny story – I had a whole post already written before this one. All I had left to do were edits, picture inserts, and posting. And then…I deleted it.😱 “Why would you do that?!” I know! Tell me about it! At the time the topic came to mind for the other post I knew it was God trying to work something out in me. I thought he had finished that work and I was ready to go. Apparently I was wrong. I believe he stalled me from posting that previous topic for a specific reason. That reason came in a dream. (Yes, God can speak through dreams…see below for just…

    You can keep your religion.

This probably won’t sit well with most. But I’m not really here to make sure things sit well with anyone, am I? I told you I would be real, honest, and hopefully say the things that are on most of our minds but not one person speaks about. That’s the thing with living “behind the screen” – I can say what I want with all the bravery I wish I had when not “behind the screen”.  An introvert such as myself needs time to process the correct words I desire to speak to communicate my point clearly and with all the emotion I feel. It’s typically a lengthy and drawn…

    Veering off the path.

It was a beautiful fall day. One of my most treasured activities in life is being able to take my big dog, Nina, out for walks. Nina is a greyhound/lab mix. She’s pure white and absolutely stunning. Being the mix she is she loves to run! Sad thing that it is she is getting old, 11 right now, and her poor body can’t keep up with her puppy like mind. On this gorgeous day I decided to find the nearest dirt road. The dirt road we found wasn’t often traveled so it made for a perfect spot to let Nina off the leash. Honestly, I love just being able to…
